The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is constituted at Malankara Catholic College in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The committee ensures transparency, genuine grievance redressal, and promotes gender sensitization, prevention, and prohibition of sexual harassment of women employees and students. It provides a confidential, responsive mechanism to address complaints of harassment by fellow students, staff, or any third party, thereby upholding the rights and dignity of all stakeholders.

Mandate & Empowerment: The ICC is empowered to receive complaints, conduct independent inquiries, recommend disciplinary actions, and take proactive steps to foster a gender-sensitive environment. Core Objectives of ICC

Committee Composition & Functions

As per the POSH Act, the ICC comprises a Presiding Officer (senior woman faculty), members from amongst faculty, an external member from an NGO or legal background, and a representative from non‑teaching staff. The committee conducts regular orientation programs, handles written complaints with strict confidentiality, and ensures resolution within the statutory timeframe. The ICC also organizes gender‑sensitization and prevention workshops across the campus.

📌 Grievance Redressal Process – Your Rights
  • ✔ Any woman employee or student may file a written complaint within 3 months of the incident.
  • ✔ ICC provides conciliation (if requested by complainant) or formal inquiry.
  • ✔ Strict confidentiality maintained throughout the process; no retaliation permitted.
  • ✔ The committee submits an inquiry report within 90 days; final action within 60 days thereafter.
  • ✔ Annual reports and internal audits are conducted to maintain transparency.
