Biotechnology Research Centre
The Department of Biotechnology is a recognized research centre of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (Ref: MSU/RES/REGN/R.C/RC: Syndicate Resolution No: 03 dated 14‑08‑2008). Its objective is to support faculty members and students of the institute in collaborative research in biotechnology. The department maintains well‑equipped laboratories for Molecular Biology, Plant Tissue Culture, Fermentation Technology, Animal Cell Culture, Marine Biotechnology and Microbial Technology, and has a strong record of research and publications. Dr. W. A. Manjusha (Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology) received a DST‑funded research project under the AGROTECH Scheme, and guidance is provided for M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates in completing their research projects and publications in reputed journals.
