Acts Constituting Ragging

  • Any conduct by any student(s) whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
  • Indulging in rowdy or in-disciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm.
  • Asking any student to do any act which causes or generates a sense of shame, torment or embarrassment adversely affecting the physique or psyche.
  • Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student.
  • Exploiting the services of a fresher for completing academic tasks assigned to an individual or group.
  • Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student.
  • Any act of physical abuse including sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene acts, causing bodily harm.
  • Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults deriving perverted pleasure from discomfiture of fresher.
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher showing off power or superiority.
  • Any act of physical or mental abuse targeted at another student on grounds of color, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, or economic background.

Responsibilities of the Committee

  • To prohibit, prevent and eliminate incidents of ragging on campus.
  • To monitor, direct and oversee the functions and performance of Anti-Ragging Squads.
  • To take appropriate decisions regarding punishment based on facts and gravity of each incident.
  • To be vigilant at all hours around the campus and other vulnerable places.
  • To offer counselling services and create awareness among students.

In the recent past there has been an immense impact of man on environment. Mankind's most urgent task is to preserve nature for our future generations. Environmental education is the need of the hour. Keeping in mind the Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and making a humble endeavour towards promoting a cleaner and greener environment, the Environmental Mentoring Committee was constituted. We have opted for a number of eco initiatives in order to sensitize the youth and through them the community.
